The End-of-Year Citywide Options Program for Chicago Public Schools offers a second application process for 2017-2018 magnet, magnet cluster, and open enrollment schools with seats still available. The Office of Access and Enrollment offers instructions for the process under News and Announcements starting at 9am on 5.22.17. Please note that Selective Enrollment schools are NOT part of this process.

The Lincoln Belmont branch of the Chicago Public Library at 1659 W. Melrose features it First Book Club from 4pm - 4:45pm. Aimed at the youngest readers, even those that need help finishing a book, this monthly event - first Friday of each month - gets kiddos in the habit of focusing on the specifics of a book in a social setting, complete with an activity or game centered on the book’s them. This month’s book is Snail and the Worm by Tina Kugler.
Visit the Chicago Tribune Printer’s Row Lit Fest on Dearborn between Congress and Polk. The little ones can take part in kid-friendly activities at the Lil’ Lit Park, while teens and adults can sit in on author panel discussions, readings, and visit with over publishers, booksellers, and literacy and cultural organizations for all genres.
